Listen to your heart ... Moscow hosts Armenian legend series

Moscow Krasnaya Presnya Cinema hall hosted the premier of “Legends Today” Series short film "Akhtamar” last Friday. Famous people and guests were led from the red carpet to Yerevan night scenes and the Armenian capital majestic atmosphere, where the film events evolve.

The film “Akhtamar” became the first screened legend rich in old Armenian culture stories, initiated by ArArAt brandy brand. Brothers Shammasyan, talented British film directors, producers managed to deliver the spirit and the coloring of the well-known Armenian legend.

“We are Armenians by origin and have good command of the Armenian language. Tour to Armenia in the frames of the project was special as this was our first visit to the land of our predecessors. Since childhood we have heard a lot about this wonderful country, though, hearing wonderful stories and being there personally are two quite different things. This is why, the shooting was so extraordinary,” Paul and Ludwig Shammasyan said.

The film tells about three love stories. Love, reviving in the story of an old taxist, starred by the USSR people’s artist Armen Jigarkhanyan, narrated to the night passenger. The ancient Armenian legend about Princess Tamar, full of passion, beauty, tragedy, sounds quite penetrating from a person’s lips who lived his personal drama. The solitare and wise hero (starred by Jigarkhanyan) decides to countenance the youth (starred by Grigori Dobrigin), who found himself in his taxi and was apparently facing a very important moment in his life – meeting with his beloved girl after a long parting. Meanwhile, She (Ravshana Kurkova) is waiting for him in a Yerevan café. The beauty and emotional experience of the heroine appeal to the prototype – Princess Tamar.

Erwin Olaf, an outstanding photographer in Europe, was a good match to the star pile. And of course, how could an Armenian film-legend do without the living legend of the Armenian culture Jivan Gasparyan? The soundtrack performed by the outstanding Armenian musician sounds mystical and organic.

“Legends Today” series, the first film to be such warm welcome by the audience, is to be continued. Over 1500 guests attending the premier were highly impressed.

“This is a fantastic idea and an actual way to attract the attention of intelligent and sensitive audience. To us, the heroes, the plot and the dramatic power captured the audience, an effect that ad is impossible to reach,” the directors said.

The film trailer can be viewed at the film official website http://www.ararat-legends.com/. The film will be available at the website from January 1. ArArAt will present the premier of “Akhtamar” to the Armenian audience as a New Year gift.
