Academy Award for Best…is announced

Kathryn Bigelow was the big winner of the night, becoming the first woman to win best director for "The Hurt Locker." As she rose to accept her award, the audience, including her ex-husband and chief rival for best director, James Cameron, stood and clapped.

Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role goes to Sandra Bullock for heart-warming portrayal in The Blind Side. Jeff Bridges wins Oscar Best Actor for Crazy Heart.  

Mo'Nique won Best Supporting Actress for her role as an abusive welfare mom in 'Precious.'  Christoph Waltz. The "Inglorious Basterds" star took home the statuette for Best Supporting Actor.

Collision of bus, truck leave 13 dead in Kazakhstan

An accident involving a truck and bus left 13 people dead and another 27 injured in southern Kazakhstan, the country's Emergencies Ministry reported on Saturday. There were 51 people on board the bus when the accident occurred. 5 people have been hospitalized.
