“New wave 2010”: Sona Shahgeldyan to represent Armenia

 

“New wave 2010” international song festival will get under way in Latvian Yurmala tomorrow. Armenia will be represented to the festival by Armenian singer Sona Shahgeldyan. The vision of the contest is to unveil young talented singers.

The committee received
12000 participation applications from 31 countries. 17 singers from 12 countries will perform in the finals – Russia and Ukraine (3 participants), Belarus, Estonia and Latvia (2 participants), Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Finland, Brazil and Israel. It’s worth reminding that our  compatriot Music Hayk will represent Russia.
The contest budget is 100 thousand euros. The winner will get 50 thousand euros, second contestant – 30 thousand and the third – 20 thousand euros.
The singers to represent Armenia in previous years were Mher, Emmy, former “Hayer” group.
