QAJARAN, KAPAN – ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT UNDER DANGER

The experts are alarmed – ecological environment in Qajaran and Kapan faces serious problems. Armen Saghatelyan the director of an ecological research center said that hyper-toxic elements are found in the dust. The source is found in the tailing dams, say the experts. Note that before they were located in the city, after they were recovered and became populated.

The experts have found mercury and cadmium, which are the most dangerous ones in hard metals. “It was found out that those tailing dams are being used to cultivate potato, beans, vegetables,” said A. Saghatelyan.

The experts have checked the milk of cows and found elements of mercury, cadmium, arsenic in the milk. The Municipality of Qajaran sent children to medical examination and it was found out that some suffer from surpass of certain chemical hard metals.

Collision of bus, truck leave 13 dead in Kazakhstan
