VTsIOM: RPA to receive 39 percent of vote, PAP 36 percent, HAK not to overcome 5 percent threshold

The All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) conducted a survey in Armenia, ordered by Shant TV, to determine citizens’ electoral preferences or voting trends ahead of the parliamentary elections.

The survey was conducted on April 1-13. 1600 respondents participated in the survey, VTsIOM Director General Valery Fyodorov told reporters.

The survey results show Republican Party being a dominant political force and Prosperous Armenia Party running second.

According to the survey, RPA will receive 39 percent of the vote, PAP will get 36 percent, Orinats Yerkir Party, ARF and Heritage will overcome the 5 percent threshold. HAK will get 3-5 percent of the vote.

The opinion poll shows RPA as the most active force in election campaign period.

“69 percent of respondents think RPA is the most active party in the campaign, PAP ranks second (65 percent) and Orinats Yerkir is third (27 percent),” the survey official said.

ARF (11 percent), Heritage (5 percent) and HAK (3 percent) are less active, according to the survey.
