White House names Russia, North Korea and Hezbollah as USA adversaries
White House press secretary Josh Earnest declared that Russia, North Korea and Hezbollah are the U.S. main adversaries in the field of national security. Earnest’s comment came at a press briefing held at White House on February 29.
Commenting on the complexity of the interaction of the current US administration and the Congress, Earnest cited an example of approval for Deputy Minister of Finance on Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam Azubin.
“Adam Szubin is a financial expert that doesn’t have a particularly political job, but he does have an important responsibility, which is to put in place sanctions that will be focused on North Korea, on Russia, on Hezbollah, on other national security adversaries of the United States,” said Earnest.
Earlier in February, Adam Szubin, engaged in US sanctions against Russia, took part in a BBC program “Panorama” when he called the President of Russia “the epitome of corruption”. According to him, US authorities have supposedly known about it for a long time.
Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s Spokesman considered the comments as inappropriate and unacceptable.
