Azerbaijan threatens Marlène Mourier
France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship expresses its support to Mayor of Bourg-lès-Valence, Marlène Mourier who faced explicit threats by Azerbaijan, reports the official website of France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship.
The Circle doesn’t understand why Baku’s explicit threats remain unnoticed by the national authorities of France.
“We shouldn’t delude ourselves. Baku aims to establish a systematic regime of intimidation and threats against those who displease them in our country, under the guise of legalism, just like they’ve already done in Azerbaijan,” said President of the France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship, François Rochebloine.
According to the Circle of Friendship, the Mayor of Bourg-lès-Valence received a document on April 22, warning her to cancel all relations with Nagorno Karabakh. Through the document, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France tries to prohibit French officials to visit Nagornono Karabakh and demands the cancellation of the Friendship Charter signed between Bourg lès-Valence and Shushi.
“This is not the first and the only case, yet it’s the most serious in its nature. A couple of days ago, a German comedian was being pursued for mocking the Turkish President. Now, Azerbaijan threatens the French official for her policy. Until when are we going to tolerate these criminal autocrats to wipe their feet on our European democracy,” François Rochebloine said.
France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship intends to contact the concerned Ministers to give the most appropriate response to this gross interference of a regime, unanimously recognized as one of the most repressive in the world.
To remind, on October 5, Mayors of Shushi, NKR, Artsvik Sargsyan and Bourg lès-Valence, Marlène Mourier signed a Friendship Charter between the two cities.
