US State Department: Nagorno-Karabakh’s final status to be only resolved in the context of a comprehensive settlement
Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State Mark C. Toner announced that Nagorno-Karabakh’s final status will be only resolved in the context of a comprehensive settlement. Mr. Toner’s comments came at a regular press briefing held in Washington on May 5.
“Nagorno-Karabakh’s final status will only be resolved in the context of a comprehensive settlement, so we urge the sides to come to the negotiating table in good faith in order to reach a settlement that achieves those goals,” The US official said in request to comment on the draft law on recognizing the Artsakh Republic discussed in Armenia.
Toner then highlighted that all the principles of the conflict settlement need to be worked out within the context of the Minsk group. “There is a process here, and that process needs to be returned to by all sides,” he concluded.
