Arman Navasardyan: Not sure Azerbaijan will refrain from resorting to new military operations
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Arman Navasardyan is neither inspired nor pessimistic about the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents held in Vienna. The Ambassador doubted Azerbaijan would not resort to new military operations. Navasardyan’s comments came at a press conference held on May 20.
“Peace is undoubtedly preferable than war. The question is whether the war would stop, whether Azerbaijan would not resume military operations. Telling the truth, I doubt much,” the diplomat said.
As evidence he pointed out to Azerbaijani statements on the expansion of the existing Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson in Office reached in Vienna.
“They [Azerbaijani leadership] already declared they had not taken any obligation about that,” Navasardyan said.
