Herbert Salber: Ceasefire preservation is a key factor for peace talks
“I have heard about it from different sources and I still need to acquire more information. Currently I am not in a position to make any comments on the incident,” turning to recent attempt of a subversive action carried out by the Azerbaijani forces Herbert Salber, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, told the reporters after meeting with Foreign Minister of Artsakh Karen Mirzoyan.
In response to the question what steps should be taken to involve Karabakh in the process of the implementation of human rights and other international programs EU representative said that currently talks are underway on the level of some officials and non-governmental organizations but they will not be limited to them only.
“We can see that after the April escalation the ceasefire regime has fortunately been preserved. We hope that the violation on the Line of Contact will stop and both sides will preserve the ceasefire as it is a key factor for peace talks,” Herbert Salber added.
