“The regular session of Armenia-EU talks were held aimed at clarifying the last provisions of a new legal comprehensive document, political scientist Sergey Minasyan told a press conference on Wednesday.
To his words, the talks were conducted in a quite intensive and constructive atmosphere, and serious arrangements were reached, testifying a progress in the document.

To Minasyan’s words, the circumstance that negotiations have being held for such a long period speaks of Yerevan’s and Brussels’s determination not to sign just a formal document with mere political elements.

“Despite the fact that Armenia is a member state to the Eurasian Economic Union with respective commitments, a quite serious document is being worked out between Armenia and the EU to include an economic, trade element in it as well,” Minasyan informed.

To his words, the parties are working to complete the talks at least by the end of the year, yet the process may prolong, considering that not only political domains are considered in the document.

Minasyan next noted that the parties are slated to meet in Brussels in December. “If the document is not finalized, there is a hope it will be prepared at the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled in spring of the coming year,” Minasyan concluded.
