Sergey Minasyan insists Azerbaijan is trying to restore its image in the propaganda sphere
Political Scientist Sergey Minasyan deemed as expected the statement released by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the OSCE regarding the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
To remind, the Azerbaijani Permanent Mission to the OSCE issued a statement complaining over the non-implementation of the UNSC 4 resolutions over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and wondered over the organizations’ constant warnings against use of force.
“This appears to be no news, and I guess the statement has come in response to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairing Russian’s FM Sergey Lavrovs’ recent statement,” Minasyan noted, adding Azerbaijanis is trying to restore its image in the propaganda sphere.
In Minasyan’s words Azerbaijani behavior is not new for the OSCE member states.
“Obviously, Azerbaijan is attempting to preserve the escalation over the conflict as well as prepare arguments and prepare information background for launching new provocations. On the other hand, this action is directed at weakening the OSCE factor, which is currently mediating the conflict. Azerbaijan disrupts both the whole negotiation process and its certain elements, specifically the proposed establishment of the investigation mechanisms along the Line of Contact,” Minasyan said.
As to the Azerbaijani much-circulated UNSC 4 resolutions, Minasyan referred to diplomats previously involved in the negotiation and peace talks, Ambassador Kazimirov among them, who can prove that Azerbaijan was the one to be blamed for the non-implementation of the resolutions, specifically with failing to comply to the resolutions’ main provision of ceasing the hostilities, that resulted in resumption of military actions.
