Armenia’s economic activity index rises by 6.5%
According to the data released by Armenia’s National Statistical Service (NSS), in January 2017 the economic activity index of Armenia increased by 6.5% to compare with the same period of the previous year.
As the RA NSS reports, in January 2017 the volume of industrial production rose by 12.2%, the gross agricultural output volume increased by 0.2% and the electricity production volume rose by 13.6% to compare with January 2016.
Meanwhile, during the first month of the year the trade turnover increased by 9.4% and the service volume (trade excluded) rose by 12.1%.
As for the construction, in January of this year the construction volume saw decrease by 5.3% to compare with January 2016.
As the NSS reports, January 2017 saw 0.6% decrease in the consumer price index in Armenia and 5.5% increase in the industrial product price index.
According to the statistics, the trade between Armenia and its partner countries has boosted. In January 2017 Armenia’s external trade turnover rose by 45.5% totaling to 358.7 million USD.
In the mentioned period, the export grew up by 35.4% making up 121.5 million USD and the import increased by 51.4% amounting to 237.2 million USD to compare with the same period of 2016.
The indicators show that in January 2017 the average monthly salary of the republic rose by 6.2 %. In the public sector, the average salary increased by 4.1% and amounted to 160.7 thousand AMD. In the private sector, the salary rose by 6.3% totaling to 223 thousand AMD.
