EAEU communication ministers held a consultation over formation of a common digital space
At the initiative of the Armenian side, a consultative session of the ministers of communication and information technologies of the EAEU member states was held in Yerevan.
According to the release by Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, a decision was adopted to establish an authorized body to hold regular meetings to elaborate on matters of the digitization in the EAEU member states.

“We came to a conclusion about the need to establish a working format to proceed with concrete proposals most likely to be presented during the next session. We shared the idea about the need to hold regular meetings and raise issues for the creation of the common digital agenda in the EAEU” Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission Karine Minasyan noted.
Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov, on his part, stressed: “The aim of our group is to regulate the respective process at the interstate level to ensure business interactions within the EAEU counties, to sell goods and services by using electronic commerce.”
According to the source, the next meeting of the ministers is slated for April in Minsk.
