Armenia to preside over TRACECA international transport program
Armenia is ready to assist TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) member states to join the signed agreements without any political reservations and preconditions, Armenia’s Minister of Transport, Communication and Information technologies Vahan Martirosyan stated during the meeting with the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA Secretary General Mr. Mircea Ciorpaga.
As the ministry reported in a released statement, TRACECA is an international transport program involving the European Union and 14 member States of the Eastern European, Caucasian and Central Asian region. Minister Martirosyan is also the chairman of the TRACECA National Commission of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting discussed were issues related to multimodal transport and its development perspectives.
Mr. Ciorpaga stated that TRASECA Intergovernmental Commission is ready to accept the proposals of the Armenian side to invigorate the transport and economic links among the member states.
The release added Armenia is the next to take over the rotating presidency of the organization.
