Armenians do not blame the entire world; they seek an opportunity of a new dialogue – political scientist
“The Armenian Genocide is not an issue referring only to Armenia, as today the capitalism destroys the entire humanity,” Belgian writer Jean-Louis Liper told the reporters at Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex.
“Genocide is not only a concept, but most importantly an enormous threat to the entire humanity,” he added.
Belgian cinematographer Eric Poporte in his turn noted that his family is one of the few families in Europe that remember and condemn the Armenian Genocide.
“I am here today because of that. I am concerned with the issue of the Genocide. I am not here merely as a tourist. I have visited here to search the power that that can unite everyone. And I have found that power,” he said.
Political scientist, expert on Oriental Studies Karine Gevorgyan (from Moscow), who accompanied her Belgian friends, in her turn agreed with Jean-Louis Liper’s opinion, noting that the Armenian Genocide is not an issue referring only to Armenians.
“It is a global tragedy. Armenians do not enclose themselves in their problems. They do not blame the entire world, instead they seek an opportunity of a new dialogue,” she added.
