Armenia’s Defense Minister meets with EU Special Representative Herbert Salber
Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan on Tuesday received the delegation headed by Herbert Salber, Ambassador, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.
Vigen Sargsyan briefed the EU officials on the recent developments between the sides of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border, as well as the current situation.
As the Press Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense told Panorama.am, Vigen Sargsyan underscored the need to sober up the aggressive side – Azerbaijan – through the addressed condemnation by the international community and the EU, as well as the need to form a climate of mutual trust as an important guarantee to the efficiency of Karabakh peace talks.
Herbert Salber in his turn noted that the EU accepts the leading role of the OSCE Minks Group in Karabakh conflict settlement, standing ready to contribute to the promotion of the talks in that format.
