The Armenian Genocide is a part of history no one can be proud of – India’s Vice President
The Armenian Genocide is a part of history no one can be proud of. Any killing of humans by other human beings can generate only one feeling. Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari said the aforesaid at today’s meeting with the students and faculty of the Yerevan State University of Armenia.
In response to one of the students question as to what his visit could change in terms of recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the high-ranking Indian official said: “Today in the morning I have read the article by British journalist Robert Fisk over that matter. He raised a question certain states would find it hard to reply to. I will not point out those countries, as it will lead to another matter. There cannot be two opinions regarding the killings of the innocent people, be it in this region, Asia, Africa or in Latin America. We are obliged to adopt the universal values.”
Talking to the reporters following the meeting with the YSU students and faculty, Hamid Ansari informed that the leadership of Armenia and India are discussing issues over the military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
Asked whether the development of military-technical cooperation between Armenia and India is possible given the current close cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in that domain, Mohammad Hamid Ansari noted: “Those are matters that are being discussed by the heads of the two states.”
