29% OF ARMENIANS SAY NATIONAL POLICY WELL DIRECTED

The national policy of three states of Southern Caucasus is assessed right, Heghine Manasyan, the director of Caucasus Research Centers-Armenia told reporters at news conference. The research results conducted in the frames of “data collecting initiative” project in 2008 have been presented to the representatives of the NGO-s and mass media.

29% of participants in Armenia think the national policy is in correct direction, this figure is high in Azerbaijan - 42% and low in Georgia – 24%. 15% of Armenians think the national policy is wrong directed, and 8% says it is completely wrong; in Azerbaijan the survey results are 3% and 1%; and in Georgia – 23% and 4%.

According to the survey results 21% of the participants in Armenia said “I don’t know”; 24% in Azerbaijan and 26% in Georgia.

According to Manasyan the survey results showed that 70% of participants in Armenia think that the society is a child and that the state should take care of them, in Azerbaijan and Georgia that figure forms 55% and 39%.

Note that the questionnaire covering 100 questions has been drafted by experts from three regional countries.
