Manoyan: Turkey’s initiative over Armenian-Turkish normalization aims at suspending the recognition of the Armenian Genocide

At the threshold of the 95 years of the Armenian Genocide we are going to face a situation even worse and different from the one we had at the threshold of its 90 years, ARF Armenian Case office representative Kiro Manoyan said today and urged the Armenian foreign ministry, as well as the Armenian embassies abroad to evolve activity on making it clear the world should recognize the Armenian Genocide, and the commission referred to in the Armenian-Turkish protocols is not going to consist of historians at all.

“If you remember, at the threshold of 90 years, Turkey was expecting an Armenian hurricane over the Genocide issue, nevertheless, once we continue this way, a Turkish hurricane may be expected,” Manoyan said and highlighted that only the Armenian diplomacy may work here.

According to him, the issue shouldn’t be left merely to the organizations dealing with the Armenian lobby; diplomacy should be made more intensive. The Armenian-Turkish protocols question the Armenian Genocide nor do they make it an issue subject to dispute, he said.

He expressed conviction that Turkey’s initiative over the Armenian-Turkish normalization aims at suspending the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
