Erdogan makes unexpected statement to ease Turkish-Azerbaijani tension

Turkey’s Government is intent to eliminate visa regime with Azerbaijan to ease tension and normalize relations between two countries, Turkey’s PM Erdogan said at a “Justice and Development’ Party sitting, according to the Turkish Sabah daily.

“PM Erdogan made an unexpected statement in view of the recent Turkish-Azerbaijani tension arisen because of the Armenian-Turkish normalization, stating the viza regime elimination between the two countries to be principal,” Sabah says.

Turkey’s PM also said the issue is due to be discussed with the Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov on his upcoming visit to Turkey.

As Erdogan said, the visa regime is to be eliminated with Jordania as well. The PM expressed discontent over the Turkish Majlis works in view of the democratic initiative process (the regulation of Kurdish issue is called so).

Remind that during the Parliamentary discussions of the Kurdish issue November 10, the atmosphere was so tense that it even came to reciprocal offenses, lamming.

Nevertheless, the democratic initiative was put on vote and was approved. The discussions on the abovementioned issue will be under way today as well.
