Armenian party claims talks held over Nagorno-Karabakh status only

Today the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian commented on the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statement made yesterday.

Aliyev had announced that currently the issues over the delivery of the 7 freed territories and the return of the Nagorno-Karabakh refugees are being discussed during the Nagorno-Karabakh talks.

“I don’t know with whom the Azerbaijani party is holding talks over these issues, but I assure you that Armenia and Karabakh aren’t discussing the issues currently. For over a year the Azerbaijani party was refusing to hold the negotiating process in accordance with Madrid principles and even was even claiming no such document existed. Now the talks are held over one issue only – the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh status,” Edward Nalbandian said.
