Lithuania ready to back Armenian-Turkish normalization, Foreign Minister says

The Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council Artur Bagdasaryan hosted today Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Vygaudas Usackas. Issues related to the Armenian-Lithuanian bilateral relations and cooperation in the framework of the international institutions were discussed at the meeting, the press office of the National Security Council reported.

The parties agreed that the Armenian and Lithuanian amiable relations have deep roots. Artur Bagdasaryan highlighted that there is a big potential to reinforce the cooperation in different spheres between two countries.

Issues related to the reforms conducted in the frames of Armenia-EU cooperation and the Eastern Partnership Action Plan were raised.

Interlocutors exchanged views over the regional conflicts, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the Armenian-Turkish normalization. Vygaudas Usackas highly evaluated Armenia’s efforts to settle ties with the neighbor countries and expressed Lithuania’s readiness to back the Armenian-Turkish normalization process.
