Russian commentator explains why Azerbaijan, particularly Aliyev, nervous

Azerbaijani President’s bellicose mood is not justified and demonstrates Baku’s nervousness, Vremya Novostey international commentator Arkady Dubnov said. According to him, “no progress should be expected from the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents’ meeting in Munich.

“I don’t assume the military activities will resume between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh and Ilham Aliyev’s address made several days ago evidences that Baku is extremely nervous over the Armenian-Turkish normalization,” the Russian journalist says.

Prior to the Munich meeting, the Azerbaijani President threatened to resume war providing the meeting bears no results. Yerevan assessed the statement as a call not only to Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, but the whole international public. At the same time, experts are not inclined to taking Aliyev’s threats seriously, thus, Dubnov thinks, the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan will not resume.
