Armenia, France to intensify amiable ties further
Within the framework of the official visit to France, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with the Chairman of the French Senate, Gerard Larshe, President’s press office reported.
During the meeting the Armenian Presodent highlighted the special role of the parliaments of the two countries in further deepening of the traditionally amiable and warm Armenian-French ties.
President Sargsyan highly assessed the activity of the France-Armenia Deputy Friendship Group and the current level of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries within international organizations, signified mutual interparliamentary visits and contacts. Gerard Larshe, in turn, reaffirmed Senat’s readiness to contribute to further enhancement of the Armenian-French amity.
At Gerard Larshe’s request, President Sargsyan presented Armenia’s stance over the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiating process, the regional and issues and the perspectives of the Armenian-Turkish normalization. The parties referred to issues of bilateral interest.
President Serzh Sargsyan also had a meeting with the Speaker of French National Assembly Bernard Accoyer in Paris. The interlocutors exchanged views on regional issues, referred to the perspectives of intensifying the Armenian-French amiable ties in different spheres.
At the end of the official visit to France Serzh Sargsyan met with the prominent representatives of the Armenian community.
The delegation headed by the Armenian President is due to return to Yerevan today.
