Azerbaijan unilaterally withdraws from military cooperation agreement with US
In the sidelines of the US-Azerbaijan bilateral military cooperation agreement, Regional Response – 2009 joint military drills were held in Azerbaijan last April with the participation of the US and Azerbaijani servicemen, Vesti.az reports.
The drills were scheduled to hold annually, hence, in 2010, too. According to APA, however, Azerbaijan initiated to unilaterally withdraw from holding the drills planned for May, 2010.
Azerbaijan has not spread any official statements over its unilateral withdrawal. Though, some experts think, this has been brought about by anti-American developments recently observed in Azerbaijan.
