U.S. does not supply non-pilot planes and “Cobra” attack helicopters to Turkey

Publicist Yilmaz Oztuna commented upon Turkish-American official relations in his article “Ankara-Washington” on the Turkiyegazetesi website. Oztuna said that Turkey is not invited to the Palestinian Peace Conference starting today in Washington. The author touched upon another important circumstance in his article:

“Now it became clear why America did not send non-pilot planes and Cobra attack helicopters to Turkey.

According to U.S. laws, that country should get approval from Congress to supply “super arms” abroad, even to such strategic partner as Turkey. Obama administration does not submit the issue to Congress being afraid of rejection.”
