A, Minasyan: “Russian President’s Azerbaijani trip targeted balance of parity”

Panorama.am talked to politician Armen Minasyan who is the director of Democracy and peace Yerevan office and asked to answer a few questions.

- How would you comment on Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s Baku visit? Was it by chance that on the eve of that visit Svetlana Medvedeva visited on 1 September school after Marshal Bagramyan in Moscow?
-Sometimes the facts tell more than any comment. Svetlana Medvedeva’s visit to Bagrayan school is its expression.

As for Russian President’s Azerbaijani trip, I’ll be short, that is a visit for visit. It’s reported that 3 groups of questions are on the agenda – Russian-Azerbaijani border issues, Caspian Sea and NK conflict. These kinds of questions aren’t so urgent.
Talking about NK conflict, expert said Russian President wouldn’t pay a visit to Azerbaijan talk about NK issue. In that case he would prefer to make clarifications in CIS summit or forthcoming OSCE summit.
To conclude Medvedev’s visit has neither bilateral nor regional significances. In fact his mission was to keep the parity, particularly after Armenian state visit Azerbaijan’s anti-Russian panic should be ceased.
