Armenian MFA spokesman: Azerbaijani official obviously misleads the public
“Over the recent years, the Presidents and Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states, as well as the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member-states have adopted several resolutions on ministerial level, clearly indicating the main issue of the negotiation process, Nagorno-Karabakh’s status determined by a legally-binding expression of will. However, Azerbaijan is making vain attempts to divert the international community’s attention from this issue,” Tigran Balayan, Spokesman for the RA Foreign Ministry said, commenting on Araz Azimov’s statement.
“Mr. Azimov has never taken part in the major meetings within the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and has no first-hand knowledge. Mr. Azimov’s superiors are obviously deceiving him for him to go on misleading the public with greater confidence,” Balayan said.
Azerbaijani official blamed Armenia Monday for lack of progress in Nagorno-Karabakh negotiating process, stating that Yerevan rejected the mediators’ proposal for settlement.
