“EU continues to support the activities of the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs and to reiterate the EU commitment for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby said in a statement.

Semneby stated that recent Azerbaijani press reports were selectively quoted and misrepresented his statements during the visit to Azerbaijan, and stressed that “the EU continues to support the activities of the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs”.

“I reiterate the EU commitment for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, based upon the Helsinki principles of non-use of force or the threat of force, territorial integrity, and the equal rights and self-determination of peoples, that would allow all internally displaced persons and refugees to return to their former places of residence,” Peter Semneby stated.
