Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan Adam Sterling was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on October 1 in connection with the meetings Speaker of the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament Ashot Ghulyan held at the U.S. Congress, Azerbaijani foreign office Spokesman Elhan Polukhov was quoted as saying by Day.az.

Azerbaijani MFA handed over a note of protest to the U.S. diplomat. “The Azerbaijani party will toughly respond to similar actions, Azerbaijan considers similar visits inadmissible, especially that U.S. is a co-chairing country in OSCE MG,” Polukhov said.
