“The Azerbaijani officials have lost their abilities to judge the events soberly. They think if they “pour” a large amount of forgery and false on the international community, at least a tiny portion of it can be accepted as absolute truth and they will win the game,” National Assembly Deputy Speaker Samvel Nikoyan told Panorama.am speaking about the message spread by the Azerbaijani delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Ganira Pashaeva, the member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, delivered a written message on “significance of return of Azerbaijani military officers”, which covers the diversion of Chaylu village on June 18 and September 4 and the issue of returning the bodies of Azerbaijani military officers Mubariz Ibragimov and Farid Ahmedov. The message claimed that non-implementation of those steps contraries the international law.

“Putting the military officers and the terrorists on the same platform is a lack of common sense. What were Azerbaijani diversionists doing in the Armenian defensive structures, how those diversionists, breaking the line of contact and committing a terror act, could be called military officers,” NA Deputy Speaker said.

According to him, having no sense of embarrassment, a state having raped an Armenian citizen, the shepherd, tortured him until death. “They beat and torture the man and make him tell to the video record that he wasn’t a shepherd but a diversionist. The recording showed that the poor Armenian man was beaten as his face was swollen and tortured.”

The Deputy Speaker said the same style was committed during the NATO trainings in Budapest when the Azeri officer murdered choppering Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan, and still Azerbaijan allows himself to speak about international norms.

“Today both Safarov and Ibragimov are declared heroes in Azerbaijan, schools are renamed after them, this is the miserable status of Azerbaijan. It is a country which heroes are murderers and terrorists. It’s impossible to prove anything to the international community through falsehood. How long Azerbaijan will veil the reality?” S. Nikoyan said.
