Norwegian FM insists on peaceful resolution for conflicts

Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has stated in a news conference in Yerevan that Norwegian oil and energy companies functioning in Azerbaijan pay taxes and work in accordance with the country’s laws and norms, at the same time remaining faithful to the international basic standards. “I don’t doubt our companies do it in Azerbaijan,” Mr. Støre answered to a question if Norway isn’t alarmed that money invested in Azerbaijan are used to buy armaments, as Azerbaijan is making armed statements.

Referring to the conflicts in the region and elsewhere, the Norwegian Minister has said Norway thinks that all the conflicts must be resolved through peace and political efforts.

“We back any initiative implemented by the countries. As for the NK conflict, we approve the OSCE MG and efforts of the international community supporting the sides to reach peace,” said Jonas Gahr Støre.
