Nalbandian: Turkey’s threats blackmail, corruption

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian remarked Monday on Western countries applying sanctions against Iran and on Armenia’s disposition in case of a potential armed conflict.

Foreign Minister said Armenia has repeatedly expressed its disposition over the issue – the conflict should be resolved through peaceful negotiations. “We’ve expressed our disposition during Iranian President’s visit to Armenia. And today we can re-confirm it,” Nalbandian said.

Minister Nalbandian was also asked to remark on French Parliament passing Armenian Genocide denial bill and Turkey’s reaction. Armenian FM said that Armenia’s senior authorities have expressed gratitude to France, lawmakers and its people.

“Today the bill is in Senate agenda and the arguments voiced by Turkey are very weak and pour,” said Minister Nalbandian underlining that the bill has nothing to do with mending process of Armenian-Turkish relations.

Referring to Turkey threatening France with sanctions, Nalbandian said they are not only blackmail but corrupted statements.
