Nalbandian: Armenia will continue assisting security efforts in Afghanistan
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian delivered a speech at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the countries participating in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan, on June 25 in Brussels, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
Edward Nalbandian said in his remarks that the international community has made consistent efforts to establish security and stability in Afghanistan and now that this function has been transferred to the national security forces of Afghanistan, it is important to assist them in the effective implementation of their mission.
Armenia’s Foreign Minister voiced hope that the post-election difficulties in Afghanistan will be overcome by constructive methods acceptable to the sides and paving the way for security and stability in the country.
Mr Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to continue assisting in the international collective efforts to establish security and interethnic solidarity in Afghanistan.
