Ambassador not commenting on U.S. strategy against IS
“I am responsible for relations between the U.S. and Armenia and I do not want to comment on other states or regions. I am not an expert on the issue and I am not able to answer the question,” U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told reporters on the sidelines of a regional conference on illegal drug trafficking in Yerevan, in response to a reporter’s remark that the United States plans to take action against the IS militants in Syria.
The Ambassador noted that he had discussed the issue with the Armenian President. “Washington is well informed of the problems of the Armenian and Christian minorities in Syria,” he said.
