Eynulla Fatullayev, Ilham Aliyev and their “human rights defending” activities in Europe

The breaking news of cyber-attack on world's leading free email service Gmail, its hacking and leak of about five million passwords shook the ground last week in the international media.

Journalistic interest of our colleagues and thorough research in the leaked big data led us to explore the activities of some “covert” propagandists of Aliyev regime – in Azerbaijan and across its borders.

As it appears from the facts retrieved by Panorama.am, a well-known Azerbaijani journalist, former “political prisoner” and “prisoner of conscience” (according to Amnesty International) Eynulla Fatullayev, teamed with odious leader of left-anarchist movement "Occupy Frankfurt" Thomas Pilz established European Information Human Rights Center  headquartered in Strassbourg in May 2013, where human rights defender from Germany Garri Mourei and few agents of influence from Turkey also were involved. Still before the official registration in Strassbourg, with the support of Fatullayev's patrons in Baku and their direct patronage this organisation received a grant in April 2013 (approximately 100,000 Euros) through the scheme of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Under the patronage of Ali Hasanov - the head of Department of Social Political Issues of the President Administration – the members of this organisation were given assignments to find and replicate real or imaginary evidences of human rights abuses in European countries, as well as collect and transfer to Baku dossiers (compromising materials) about leading European politicians who criticize the policies of Azerbaijan. The initiator of this “endeavour”, as well as the coordinator for financial flows has been the director of programs of OSI-Baku office Rovshan Bagirov.

The organisation, consisting of 7-10 members (from Sweden, Germany, Norway, Denmark, etc), has been functioning between August 2013 – June 2014, until the moment when, judging from the email correspondence, some conflict of interests broke out among the coordinators due to the alleged adoption of the funds by Eynulla Fatullayev originally assigned for the functioning of the organisaton.

It seems the agenda of the organisation collapsed, when the members were assigned to author anti-Semite and anti-Russian materials for publication in Azerbaijani media, primarily in the website haqqin.az owned by Fatullayev.

Panorama.am possesses irrefutable facts to confirm that within the period that the European Information Human Rights Center discharged its duties, Eynulla Fatullayev targeted those European politicians who dared to speak the truth with regards to human rights abuses in Azerbaijan, as well as – by direct assignment from the Administration of the President and personally by Ali Hasanov – publication of anti-Semite articles. As a local platform in Baku the website haqqin.az has been used, which is edited by Eynulla Fatullayev and financed directly by the Administration of the President.

Panorama.am together with its partners currently is still researching the archive obtained. In the next few days we will continue publishing information and official documents, which will show and prove the links and bonds between the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan and the European Information-Human Rights Center in Strassbourg, with the members of which the most «oppositional» editor of haqqin.az Eynulla Fatullayev has seemingly got distorted relations by now.
