Armenian parliament delegation begins official visit to Cyprus
A delegation of Armenian National Assembly, led by Speaker Galust Sahakyan, is in Cyprus on an official visit, the press service of Armenian parliament reports.
The delegation laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Nicosia.
Further, in the Armenian Prelature of Cyprus, the delegation met with representatives of the organizations and associations of the Armenian religious group.
Galust Sahakyan thanked the Armenians of Cyprus for their invaluable work in the preservation of the Armenian identity. He spoke about Armenia’s recent achievements and problems, as well as ways of their solution. Commenting on the Armenian Genocide centenary commemorations, he presented the main content of the Pan-Armenian Declaration on 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Those present thanked the parliamentary delegation for the visit. They addressed questions to the Armenian National Assembly Speaker. The Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the situation on the Line of Contact, political and economic issues were discussed.
Galust Sahakyan said in particular that the Armenian soldier has never been defeated and this testifies to the high level of Armenian Armed Forces’ combat readiness.
