Erdogan’s advisor blames Iran for destabilizing region – Tehran’s response
Iran destabilizes the region and harms the unity of the Muslim world with its actions, said Amrollah Ishlar, the special advisor to the Turkish President, according to the Iranian website Arannews.com.
The senior expert of the Iranian Foreign Ministry on regional issues, Sadegh Maleki, referred to the Turkish official’s anti-Iranian statements. “There is an obvious mistake in the Turkish presidential advisor’s statement - it was Turkey whose name was to be used instead of Iran. If today we see the destroyed and burnt Syria, it is the result of the policy Turkey leads. Ankara has done a great favor to Israel by supporting the terrorists,” he told the Iranian news agency Mehr.
“Turkey obviously tries to sow discord among the Muslims with its actions. The opposition in Turkey has more than once warned the authorities against religious wars. ISIS’s emergence and strengthening in Syria and Iraq is the result of the direct and indirect support from Turkey,” the Iranian expert added.
As regards the economic situation in Turkey, Sadegh Maleki said, “Given the political and civil situation in Turkey, its economy will not only fail to face a war, but will not even be able to address any serious crisis either.”
In an interview, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had declared that Iran wanted to take control over the whole region and the territories under ISIS’s possession and incite Shia-Sunni split.
IRI Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in answer to the above-mentioned statement of the President of Turkey, said, “Those who have suffered irreversible losses as a result of their strategic mistakes and ambitious politics had better contribute to the stability of the region with responsible policy.”
