Argentinian political scientist: NKR little proof of protection of universal values and principles
Artsakh is situated on the international historical and geographical crossroads, where numerous realities currently converge, writes Fabián Bosoer, a journalist and political scientist, who was an independent observer at the NKR elections in June 2012. The article is published on the website of the Armenian Argentinian news agency Prensa Armenia.
According to the author, Artsakh is a “model case” of the struggle for constitution in the democratic states in the postwar interstate system. It also constitutes a part of the struggle for the self-determination of nations, which sprang up with the end of the Cold War.
“On the crossroads of the world that leaves us and the one that emerges, there is a concept, which is a fruit of the evolution of the international law, the notion of ‘international civil society,’ as well as the disasters and threats neither the national states, nor the international law, nor the world powers can escape,” Bosoer writes. “How does a democracy in precarious state manage to survive and develop?”
Such questions are a part of the existence of Nagorno Karabakh Republic, which is under a hostile state’s threat. “As people, as nations, as a part of the human diversity, we can always find someone different from us or someone like us. Nagorno Karabakh Republic is a little proof of the protection of those universal values and principles,” the author writes.
