3-4 magnitude earthquake in Yerevan

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck Iran today, August 11, 16:23 local time. The earthquake occurred 16 km northwest of the town of Ahar.

The earthquake’s hypocenter was located at a depth of 15 km. The tremors were measured at 9 in the epicenter.

The earthquake was also felt in Armenia: in the towns of Agarak, Meghri, Kajaran, Kapan and Goris, measured at 4.5, and in Yerevan, measured at 3-4, National Seismic Protection Service of Armenian Emergency Ministry reported.
