Almost 7,000 migrants detained in Moscow for checks
A total of 6,830 migrants have been taken to police departments over the past 24 hours for checks on whether their stay in Russia is legal, TASS reported, citing the press service of the Moscow police headquarters.
It says police, migration and security services are conducting an operation between October 23 and November 2 to reveal illegal migrants.
A total of 535 administrative protocols have been drawn up over violation of rules of entry into Russia or stay in it for foreign nationals or persons without citizenship.
Twenty-three criminal cases have been opened over unlawful stay in Moscow.
