Armenian president, Iran’s ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today, on October 5 Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raiesi who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the presidential press service reported.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked the ambassador for efforts the ambassador made over the 3 years of his mission in Armenia in order to develop and strengthen Armenian-Iranian ties. The president wished M. Raiesi success in his further activities.
President Sargsyan stressed that the relationship with Iran is of vital importance to Armenia and is conditioned by historic and cultural similarities, mutual economic interests, peculiarities of the geographical location, and common approaches to a number of regional problems.
The Armenian president and the Iranian ambassador highlighted the importance of constantly deepening bilateral cooperation involving various spheres. They at the same time stressed the need for frequent high-level mutual visits and regular consultations.
Ambassador Raiesi thanked Serzh Sargsyan for support throughout his diplomatic mission in Armenia and expressed a readiness for cooperation.
