Unlike presidential candidates, who can run for office only twice, mayors can hold office for life in Armenia, Hraparak reports.

The paper asked head of NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Issues David Harutyunyan to comment on the issue.

“It’s difficult to determine which one is right. As for me, I am rather inclined to limitation of terms of office for mayors. I think two terms of office are enough for a candidate to show his value, and it is right to give various people such an opportunity,” Harutyunyan is quoted as saying.
