Kurdish protesters clashed in Van

Kurdish protesters have clashed with riot police in the southeastern Turkish province of Van.

Turkish Milliyet reported he violence followed a meeting of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party, condemning the deaths of nine Kurdish guerillas, killed in a clash with Turkish security forces in the southeast of the country on Monday.

Police retaliated with smoke grenades, after some of the demonstrators who were attending the meeting pelted stones at them.
