TELETHON COLLECTS $15 MILLION 275 THOUSAND

The annual telethon organized by Pan Armenia Fund ended several hours ago in Los Angeles. The telethon managed to collect $15 million 275 thousand which is more than collected last year, $14 million.

The pan national fundraising was conducted under the heading “One nation, one future.” The collected money will be used to recover villages in Tavush region of Armenia and Martuni region of Nagorno Karabakh.

Pan Armenia Fund reports say people for Los Angeles, Europe, Asia as well as Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia actively participated.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to sue over claims

Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are taking legal action against a British tabloid “News of The World” that reported the couple was going to break up. The News of the World, a British tabloid, claimed that Pitt and Jolie had met with a divorce lawyer and had already planned to divide their assets and make arrangements for the custody of their six children. A complaint was filed at London's High Court on Monday to proceed with a case against the newspaper.

Bus plunges down ravine in South China, killing 6

A bus collided with a sport-utility vehicle and plunged down a mountain ravine in southern China, killing six people and injuring 30. The crash happened Monday afternoon on a highway in the Guangxi region. It says at least 51 people were on the bus, citing police in Hechi city near the crash, foreign media reports say. Sixteen passengers and the driver were seriously injured.

Yanukovich claims victory in Ukraine's presidential runoff

Ukraine's opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych won a narrow victory in the country's presidential election, electoral officials say. With more than 97% of votes counted, Mr Yanukovych had a 2.6% lead over his rival, PM Yulia Tymoshenko.
