Catholicos of All Armenians off to Syria on four-day visit

At the invitation of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, the delegation chaired by the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II arrived in Syria's capital Damascus yesterday.

According to the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin press office, during his four-day visit, the Catholicos is due to have meetings with Syria’s President, Parliament Speaker, PM, spiritual leaders, as well as the Armenian-Syrian community representatives.

Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are taking legal action against a British tabloid “News of The World” that reported the couple was going to break up. The News of the World, a British tabloid, claimed that Pitt and Jolie had met with a divorce lawyer and had already planned to divide their assets and make arrangements for the custody of their six children. A complaint was filed at London's High Court on Monday to proceed with a case against the newspaper.

Bus plunges down ravine in South China, killing 6

A bus collided with a sport-utility vehicle and plunged down a mountain ravine in southern China, killing six people and injuring 30. The crash happened Monday afternoon on a highway in the Guangxi region. It says at least 51 people were on the bus, citing police in Hechi city near the crash, foreign media reports say. Yanukovich claims victory in Ukraine's presidential runoff

Ukraine's opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych won a narrow victory in the country's presidential election, electoral officials say.
