Indonesia struck by 6.2 magnitude earthquake

A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 shook the Indonesian island of Sumbawa where people fled their rattling homes Saturday but no damage or injuries were reported.

The quake struck at 2:04 p.m. (0604 GMT) and was centered 162 miles (261 kilometers) south of the town of Raba on Sumbawa in the east of the Indonesian archipelago, the U.S. Geological Survey in a statement.
