US State Secretary Spokesman Philip Crowley referred in a daily briefing to Turkey’s Interior Minister Beshir Atala’s statement that from the point of view of media freedom Turkey is freer than the USA.

Crowley said: “I can not remember a single case when a journalist has been detained in US recently.”

Crowley answered to a question on Armenian-Turkish relations. According to Turkish “Milliyet” Crowley insured that US was making efforts to settle Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan conflicts.
