International community condemns demolition of Statue to Humanity erected in Kars
Turkish PM Erdogan called the Monument to Humanity erected in the city of Kars “ugly and monstrous”. Turkish “Hurriyet” daily writes that the event has been deeply condemned by the international media.
The monument which was to symbolize peace and solidarity in Armenian-Turkish relations is being demolished. The artists' efforts to save the monument were futile. Last week a prominent painter was stabbed after a speech condemning the plan to tear it down.
